BCU 5 Star White Water Kayak Training and Assessment Courses
Five Star.
Kayak training and assessment (kayak). Successful performance at this level indicates that a candidate has entered the top level of performance, involving a high level of personal skill and leadership in advanced situations. It is a leadership award and the appropriate test for paddlers who wish to lead groups of paddlers on advanced river journeys in whitewater kayaks. The five Star Kayak leader has the skills and judgment to select appropriate river trips for paddlers with a range of experience.
BCU 5 Star White Water Kayak Training
Pre-requisites
• BCU 4 Star Kayak Test
• First aid award (minimum 16hrs) optional for training
• Previous Experience
• Member BCU optional
BCU 5 Star Assessment White Water Kayak Leadership
The candidate must provide documentary evidence of a minimum of 30 varied, quality, advanced whitewater kayak river days in 3 different geographical areas. Logged experience of paddling grade V with peers.
• LR Form and registration
• Two day formal 5-Star Kayak training Leadership & Skills
• Two day Advanced Safety & Rescue Course
• Candidates must be 18 or over, at the time of assessment
• First aid award (minimum 16hrs)
• BCU Membership

Important Notice:
From 1st July 2009 all candidates (living in England) wishing to attend a BCU 4 or 5 Star Leader Assessment need to register with Canoe England prior to their assessment using a "Leader award Registration (LR)" form. Please allow at least two weeks to complete the registration process.
BCU Fees to be paid at time of registration not to the assessor

Set in the beautiful river Biasse Valley.
Great central location for kayaking. Mountains all round offering climbing, bike and
walking trails. Oders taken for bread from a local Boulangerie. Close by the village of Freissinieres and Pallon for restaurants/Bars. Very safe and secluded parking.
£6.70 per adult per night
£1.70 children under 12 yrs. per child per night
Group reductions on application
3.00 Euros electricity per vehicle per night. (booked in advance pay on site)
Tourist tax (00.30 cents Euro) per person per day is included in the
camping fees
