About us
Our professional product has been proven time and again over the last twenty years. This is why we are still the UK's number one alpine white water course provider in the South of France/South French Alps. No other UK alpine school offers the variety of courses, experience and depth of knowledge of the area we operate in.
What do we offer?
A guiding/coaching service, for clubs, schools, groups or individuals during the South of France white water season from April to August. This long season allows our guests/clients more opportunities to access these services. As well as France we offer guided multi day raft supported trips to the rivers of Morocco, India and Nepal.
The South French Alps.
This fantastic white-water playground has been for many years, the most popular destination for UK kayakers. This may be for paddlers looking for their first alpine experience or seasoned boaters knowing this area offers relaxed river days. To full on classic steep continues alpine boating. It also offers a holiday and fun in a warm relaxed environment.
The Germanasca Area of Italy.
This region of Italies Piemonte is an area little known by UK boaters. It has a number of rivers including the Germanasca which offers superb grade 4-5 steep creeking. The melt water feeding these rivers run off the mountains of Monte Viso and Barifreddo and eventully run into the Po. Canoe Control has on offer a number of (as always) high quality professionally guided trips to this region. Pre-requites for paddlers joining us on these trips are: That they are grade 4 boaters with a solid roll. Be of the ability to paddle well, either two or three or all of these type of rivers Upper Dart/Erm, Ogwen/Conwry, Ochry/Etive. Also enjoy fanatastic Italian food and wine and coffee. When and Where?
For a day or a week. We will be in Provence and Verdon April/May then in the South French Alps/Italy May/June/July/August we can meet you at your convenience to discuss your needs or you are very welcome to join us at our base for a coffee/beer.

If you are new to Provence/Verdon or the South French Alps and you need advice concerning water levels, river conditions, accommodation, restaurants etc. Our unparalleled experience of this region allows us to offer that advice. Three paddling days with two self-catering tented nights
Day 1)
Meet at the CC base. The preparation day will be in the French Alps, river Durance/Guil catchments.
Drive to Italy and the Germanasca area in the afternoon.
Set up camp Dinner in local Ristorante.
Day 2)
Access a Panetteria for breakfast and lunch supplies.
Paddle suitable section of Germanasca.
There is easily two days worth of boating just on the Germanasca.
Dinner in local Ristorante.
Day 3)
Access a Panetteria for breakfast and lunch supplies.
Break camp and paddle suitable section of Germanasca or other.
End paddling set off for France.
Arrive back at CC base for beer or coffee.

-This is a river running day. We start on a short easy section of river to warm up. Then its away to a river that is relative to the groups ability.

-On steep continues grade 3-4 we always run with a safety boater

ALPS HALF DAY ROLLING CLINIC
-Dates are by arrangement
-After some time in the pool we will then transfer your rolling skills to some easy safe moving water. The ability to roll will also help your support strokes

PRICES FOR PRIVATE CAMPING ALPS (non course paddlers are welcome for for just camping)
Set in the beautiful river Biasse Valley. Great central location for kayaking. Mountains all round offering climbing, bike and walking trails. Close by the village of Freissinieres and Pallon for restaurants/bars. Bread ordered from local Boulangerie. Very safe and secluded parking.

Some of the other activities that can be sampled in the area include via ferrata climbing, fly-fishing, mountaineering, mountain biking, canyoning, telepheriqies (cable car), horse riding, walking, swimming and sailing.
There is super market shopping, Boulangerie, Restaurants, Pizza van, Bars and other local services at l'Agenterie la Bessee, 10 minute drive away.
There is a Hotel/Restaurant/Bar in the Village of Palon 10 minute walk away from our location. Also the Mountain Hotel/Restaurant 5 Siasons is a 5 minute drive away.
