Dates & Prices
A two day assessment of coaching and leadership skills on Grade 2 white water Assessment is presented in a non-interventional manner. Canditates will be provided with real learners to lead and coach for the two days of assessment.
Success in your assessment will enable you to guide and coach on Grade 2 white water and assess 3 Star kayak.

£165 non-residential + BCU Fees
Prerequisites/Paperwork*
-Full BCU membership
-Minimum age 18
-Old BCU L3 inland Kayak Trn.
-C1 form stamped for assessment
-4 Star inland kayak,
-BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (or old BCU Canoe Safety Test)
-Current first aid certificate (minimum 4 hours)
-Logged coaching hours
On the day
-Appropriate personal and safety equipment*
-All original certificates* to be presented on the first day

-£17.50 assessment fee.

Brief Itinerary
Day 1
-09.00 Introductions/briefing and complete initial paper work
-09.30 Meet learners check equipment and brief on the days logistics
-10.00 The day is yours.
Coach and lead appropriate to the learners needs and water/river conditions
-12.30 Lunch
-13.00 The day is yours.
Coach and lead appropriate to the learners needs and water/river conditions
-16.00 Finnish coaching debrief learners and pack up

Day 2
-0900 Meet and briefing on the days logistics

* Equipment. Please note Canoe Control will not lend or hire any equipment for this assessment
* Paper work. Please note that all the necessary paper work, plus original certificates most be presented at the initial first days briefing. Failure to present this paperwork or not completed all the pre-requisite, could disqualify you from attending the assessment. No refund will be offered if this is the case.
* Lectures. Are 10 min long canditates are free to chose their own topic. All equipment to present the lecture will supplied by the canditate.
* A reserch paper will be sent to each canditate prior to the assessment.
